School. Anna was happy to go back to school after a spring break. Their class iPads arrived, and each student passed iPad handling test and got “an iPad license”. Her favorite app right now is Scribble Press. They also started a new science unit – dinosaurs. In Y they have two weeks of Earth Day based activities with a lot of gardening and campus improvement projects.
Afterschool. As usual, we had a pretty full week. Our afterschooling is usually limited to weekends and to small activities here and there during the week. We talked about India a lot and gardened. Anna also writes quite a bit on her own – creating pretend responsibility charts for her toys and making lists. I am really happy about warmer weather and more time to spend outside!
Places we are going – This weekend is full of birthday parties for Anna’s classmates, but we still decided to go hiking yesterday, since the first birthday party was in the afternoon. Anna loves going hiking, especially when she gets to drive to our favorite park in a convertible of our best friend. Of course, her best parts are climbing rocks and trees and a snack ![]()
Quote of the week: Anna, playing with her toys and inventing responsibility chart:
This is Allison A, this is Allison B. This is Jennifer. Those are Sally and Sammy, they are twins. And parents couldn’t decide how to name this boy, so they simply decided to call him Bob. When he grows up, he can choose his own name.
Thanks for everyone who joined Afterschool last week. I love visiting and commenting. My favorite posts were:

It really looks like she loves being outdoors!
I love the responsibility charts for toys :)
I won't tell Princess about the idea of writing responsibility charts..... I can just imagine what she'd do.
We need some responsibility charts for the toys around our home. "Pick yourself up and put yourself away!" Wow that would be great. :)

I love her Bob, He can pick his own name when he grows up. Whats the chances that he will continue to go by Bob? Looks like a great week.
Riding to a hike in a convertible sounds like a lot of fun!
I think I need Anna in charge around here! I bet she is loving the iPads. Looks like a great week. I liked your features too!
