I stumbled upon this set of mini-blocks on eBay when I was looking for geometric solids. It was selling for $1 – totally worth it. From time to time Anna builds a new “castle” on her table – always during her “rest time”. It cracks me up how symmetrical her creations tend to be even though she doesn’t know what symmetry is. I love looking at her “rest time creations” – her creativity seems to peak when she is left to her own devices for a bit and has time to digest everything she learned at home and at preschool.

I used to do "transportation tuesday" in which I posted a photo Of Kiddo's car set-ups. He never got much into blocks, though.

Those look like great blocks! Diego always makes very symmetrical creations too. I wonder why they do that.

I found a set of black & white alphabet blocks at a garage sale for a dollar. Both girls LOVE them!!
Because it doesn't look right if it's not symmetrical.
I'd say those blocks are super cool, but let's face it, it's just anything small that is cool. I totally love miniatures.
One of the benefits of being an only child is your beautiful castles remain standing long enough to be photographed. In our house, they face instant bombardment from the boys - who have a "leave no blocks standing" policy :)
I love these posts from you. I always look forward to seeing them. We have so many toys and most are never played with. I am gradually trying to weed things out. Our blocks we play with all the time.
I love a good toy bargain. $1 for all that play fun is amazing.
I find that my kids are also their most creative when left to their own devices. The problem is, when two of them are left together to their own devices I don't always like the (very creative) results...
I think I should have spent money on little blocks instead of the M and D unit blocks. They are so big that Bear isn't drawn to build with them. Love your blocks!
I love how creative kids can be with blocks. And a great bargain too - can't beat it :)
