We received a nice surprise in the mail from Debbie at Children Grow Children Explore Children Learn. She initiated a fun postcard exchange and will host geography hop in January. Anna got a postcard from Washington and little party favors from Selena’s birthday party. She was very interested in learning more about where Selena lives and about a big mountain called Mt Rainier that Selena can see out of her window. I am very excited about this postcard exchange and ability to show her more of the world and of the country.
We will get more focused on geography in 2010 especially seeing how my best friends sent her this toy that we kept for Christmas. We will virtually visit different places in the United States and also in the rest of the world. We will also most likely travel internationally in 2010 visiting our German side of the family. I am excited to open up the world to my little girl, and I am hoping that we will visit many places in person when she is old enough to appreciate them better. In the meantime I will be very happy to send postcards from our beautiful city of San Jose to anyone who comments on this post and hoping to get a postcard from you in return.

I checked out that globe. It looks pretty neat! I hope that you let us know what Anna thought of it after she plays with it. :) Diego would love a postcard. We will be happy to send one from Texas too.
We're in Texas too. But get me the address before we leave next week and we could get you postcards from, say, New Mexico or Arizona :) Since we are travelling to Sahuarita, AZ for Christmas.
We'd be happy to send you some cheer from the beautiful island of Bermuda!
This sounds like so much fun! I'll definitely send a postcard from Utah. :-) I think I am going to post about this in my blog, too.

We've signed up with Selena and Debbie for the postcard exchange too. I think this is such a fabulous idea. I know Savvy will get such a kick out of getting a special postcard in the mail. It's such a great way to start talking about other countires.
The V tech learning globe looks like a great inteactive tool to learn about the countires of the world. I will be very interersted to learn what Anna thinks of this.
